Abstract

Contemporary identities between data and representation

The vast amount of information about humans available to us today, between big and small data, allows us to trace the contours of our humanity as never before. However, this very multitude of data, makes our identity extremely fuzzy, and it remains a great unknown, a mystery that is all the more dense the more complex and timely its representation becomes.

This exhibition, curated by Wild Mazzini and Marco Ruffino (lamatilde) and presented at Circolo del Design, revolves around the “broken figures” of the contemporary man and woman. Within this kaleidoscope, among iconography, data visualisation, photoviz, data art and sonification, the exhibition offers visitors the chance to contribute to the research of man on man through an interactive installation, analog and unfiltered, inviting us to find our own perspective.
